Dear Diary is a video installation that presents the collective experiences of girlhood through the memories of different Filipina women trying to recount their past through their grade school diaries. It explores how these girls in their 20s confront and embrace their past selves, reflecting on their identity growing up as girls, and the importance of carrying around a diary that documents each individual’s histories. This project tries to explore the multifaceted aspects of young female identity in the Philippines.
